Consultancy & Traveller Work

Due to my personal lived experience as well as my time working with a wide range of Traveller organisations I am occasionally asked to give input on a range of Traveller-related projects. Beyond founding Traveller Pride I have worked as a part of, or directly collaborated with a number of Traveller organisations including London Gypsies & Travellers, The Showmen's Guild of Great Britain, ACERT, The Showmen's Mental Health Awareness Charity, National Bargee Traveller Association Therapy Scheme, Dikh He Na Bister (Roma Holocaust Memorial project).

My expertise is largely around topics of

  • Traveller Identity

  • Traveller Languages

  • Traveller Mental Health

  • LGBTQ+ Traveller Identities

  • Traveller Education

  • Showmen & the History of funfairs in Britain

I use Traveller here in its broadest definition to include both those identified as ethnic minority groups in the UK as well as other nomadic, or historically nomadic, groups. As a non-exhaustive list, this includes Travelling Showmen, Irish Travellers, New Travellers, Scottish Travellers, Boaters, Bargees, Romany Gypsies & Circus Travellers.

I have previously acted as a consultant for academics, local authorities, education organisations, charities, TV & film production companies, theatre shows, drag queens, authors, museums, archives as well as individual researchers.

What I charge for this varies depending on the nature of the organisation/project I'm working with.
